
Autopsy shows body is Kathlynn Shepard’s
A body found in the Des Moines River near Boone on Friday night is that of missing teen Kathlynn Shepard.
The cause of death was “multiple sharp and blunt forced injuries,” and will be certified as a homicide, according to information released by the Department of Criminal Investigation on Sunday. An autopsy, performed Saturday by Chief State Medical Examiner Julia Goodin, showed the injuries were to the head, said Gerard Meyers, DCI assistant director.
