Blank Park Zoo animals eat city’s unwanted honeysuckle

The idiom “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” rings true in a partnership between the city of Des Moines and the Blank Park Zoo.

In this case, the city’s invasive plants became the zoo’s animal food.

“We just realized we have this issue and they have this need,” said Jen Fletcher, marketing supervisor for the Des Moines Park and Recreation Department.
